Barbie Dollhouse

I am nearly finished with the girls' Christmas present. I decided back in the spring to make them a barbie doll house after finding some plans on the internet. In my research I came across several that I liked parts of and decided to take what I liked from each idea and make one of my own. I also came across a guy on Etsy that makes fantastic barbie doll furniture (all unfinished wood)while researching and bookmarked his site. Last month I purchased a bunch of items and then set to work constructing the house with a bit of help from Isaiah, who is interested in learning woodworking. It has been so much fun putting this together for the girls and is nearly ready for Christmas, just a few finishing touches to go. It is a project that we can continue to improve upon as time goes by so that will add an extra element of fun for the girls. Have a look at what I have to date:

Embroidered Tablecloth

This project occupied my free time throughout part of the summer and all of the fall but was well worth the effort. I found the preprinted for embroidery tablecloth at an antique store for a steal and decided to do it up for my boss for Christmas. Matching colors from fabric scraps from the quilt I made her last year I jumped in with both feet. The final result is gorgeous and I hope she loves it.

Ruffle Scarfs

I think I may be a bit addicted to making these. I made my first on about three weeks ago and have made 10 more since. Once I pick one up I have a hard time putting it down until it is finished. They make fantastic Christmas presents.

When working on a couple of decorative pillows. The first is a 12 x 16 pillow that will go in the post tomorrow to mum in her Christmas parcel.
The second is still in progress in the photo but is now complete and is going to one of my clients at work.

Ruffled Burlap Tableccloth

A woman from church asked me to make a three tiered ruffled burlap tablecloth for her youngest daughter's birthday party. After doing this project I don't know that I will sew burlap again as I discovered while working on it that I am allergic to the stuff. I must admit that it turned out pretty well and she was very happy with it.

Charmalade

I started Moda Bakeshop's Charmalade this week using Fig Tree's Butterscotch and Roses Charm squares. I am doing this as a Christmas gift for a friend and coworker and wanted it to be a bit larger then the one in the tutorial so I am using an extra pack of charm squares. It is coming along slowly but surely, what with working and kiddos but it promises to be quite lovely.

Having Fun With Hats

My niece as well as my husband's boss are both expecting baby boys. I could not resist making some hats for the little guys to use this fall and winter but think I may have gotten a bit carried away. Oh well, they was loads of fun. Just need to put the eyes on the puppy hats.

Pinwheel Sampler Completed

Today we gave my daughter's teacher the quilt I made for her. This teacher has taught three of my four children a total of four years and this was a gift to express our gratitude for all that she has done for our children.
