A Scrappy US Map

I saw something similar on the internet, Pinterest I believe, several months ago and could not wait to make one. The kindergarten teacher at the kiddos school was so kind to let me use her projector so that I could enlarge this project to fit a 24 X 36 canvas. The project as a whole was easy and fun but rather labor intensive. The New England states were the most time consuming with their small intricate sizes and shapes. Overall though, it turned out just as I had hoped and looks fantastic in the girls' bedroom. It goes well with their bedding and pennant banner.

I did these last month but am just now getting around to blogging about them. An acquaintance at church that I have done quite a bit of sewing for asked me to make three of these for her sister's 4th of July wedding. Now these were very labor intensive but oh so pretty.

A Little Nicey Jane for Olivia

My boss's daughter turns eight just five days before Ivy Girl does and so they always exchange gifts. This year I put together this cute pillowcase for her.

I picked up the picnic quilt Friday from the quilter and it turned out beautifully. The binding has been added and just needs to be completed.

Doilies

I did up a couple doilies to include with some Easter gifts this year. The larger of the two was quite interesting to do as it had several stitches in it I had never seen before. Once I figured them out it went together easily.

Rising Stars

The Kindergarten teacher asked me if I would do a quilt for her class again this year. We have had a bit of trouble connecting but it is slowly coming together. One of the children in her class has been absent for an extended time so we are awaiting her little self portrait and then we can finish it up.

Red, White and Black Ripple Afghan

My son's class is doing a "Movie Night" theme for their class basket for the auction and so he asked if I would make an afghan to go in it. I decided to do it in the school colors.

Taking Turns

I was recently gifted a large quantity of 1930's reproduction fabrics and have been having loads of fun with them since doing fun things for the girls' bedroom. Here is a quilt top in progress and completed for one of the girls' beds. Another quilt for the other is in the works but is on the back burner at the moment as quilts for their school auction need to get completed.

I

Let's Have A Picnic

My Children's school is getting for their annual auction and each of their classes has settled on a theme for their class basket. Sarah's class decided they wanted to do a camping themed basket and one of the parents thought it would be great to have a picnic blanket to include. So my thinking cap went on and this is what I came up with:

Each of the children in Sarah's class did a finger print ant around the boarder and signed their name to personalize the quilt. The top is now ready to visit my favorite quilter.

Pinwheels In The Works

I made a pinwheel sampler quilt from this fabric back in the spring for my daughter's teacher and was so excited that there was enough to make a second quilt from it since it turned out so beautifully. Well I finally have gotten started on it and am just as pleased the second time around.

Could Not Resist

...making a couple more bags with the remnants of this fabric. Sarah was invited to attend a birthday party for a friend and so we decided to make another of the lunch bags to double as a gift bag and part of the birthday gift. There was just enough remaining of the fabric following this to make a cellphone purse that I took in to a coworker to give to her daughter.

Lunch Bag

After seeing the super cute lunch bags on Pinterest that Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet made using Ayumi's tutorial I just had to make one. I had promised one of my daughters a scripture bag and thought this would be perfect. Using some remnants from outfits I did for the girls a couple of weeks ago and some coordinating fabric leftover from another project this is what we have:

I added a pocket on the inside to hold a pencil/pen and her Faith in God booklet
