The Jenny Bag

I have had Lola's tutorial for "The Jenny Bag" printed and tucked away in the "want to make" file for about two years now and today I gave it a go. It took two attempts to make it as the first time around I used the wrong pellon for the bag. Once I got my initial glitch worked out the bag came together really quick and I am pleased with the results. I do think I will add a little embelishment though to jazz it up a bit. This makes 2 projects complete for the month of February and the plan is to have it in the mail first thing Monday to go to it's new owner from Suzee's Amy Bulter Bag swap. Hope she likes it.

Block Swap Blocks

Yesterday was such a productive day. Not only did I complete my block for club and a bunch of alterations, I also managed to complete the nine blocks for Reanna Lilly's block swap. I love how they turned out and could not resist placing them all together to see how they would look as a quilt. OH the temptation, I just might have to make moore of these blocks and make a quilt with the additional blocks.

Amy Butler Apron

I had so much fun putting together this apron for Holly's apron swap. I used Simplicity 2932.

Indian Puzzel

This morning was month six of the 12-month BOM club I am participating in so yesterday I finally finished putting together the block. It is not at all my favorite block so far but after seeing the new block this morning I am liking it a little better.

Julie's Signature Star

Today found the completion of a project that has been waiting to be done for 2 1/2 years now. I am not at all good with words so please bear with me in my explaining how this quilt came to be. When a very dear friend of mine announced that she was moving to Alaska I wanted to do something special for her to let her know she would be missed. The idea of a signature quilt came to mind and I put together the top and then took it around to her friends here in town. A few days before she and her family moved I presented her with the top and gave a promise that I would get it quilted and mail it to her. I am disappointed to say that it has taken 2 1/2 years and some very sad news from her to come through on my promise. In January she experienced the lost of her sweet baby boy, born too soon. I wanted so much to be with her and let her know she was in my thoughts and prays. I hope that when she recieves this quilt in a few days that she will know that not only I, but all of her friends here are thinking of her and send their love. We miss you Julie.

A Sneak Peak

Just a little peak at something I am working on for one of the swaps I've signed up to participate in. This is turning out so darn cute I can't wait to share the finished item once the recipient has received it.

Valentine's Children's Swap

My boys and I are new to the world of home schooling this schhol year and thus far it has gone pretty well. The boys' one complaint has been that they will not get to do valentine's day at school and so I set out to find a way to make the day extra special for them. In my search I came across this blog and found that she was hosting a children's Valentine's swap. The boys were very excited about the idea and so we submitted our names to participate. We have had so much fun getting things together for our swap partners (the girls have partners as well-could not leave them out of the fun)and look forward to heading to the post office tomorrow morning.
